Peter Singleton
Environment Waikato

Dr Peter Singleton is a manager at Environment Waikato responsible for a team of scientists gathering information for the management of the regions coasts, land and wetlands. He is also manager of the Coastal Policy team. He has a MSc (Hons) and PhD degree in soil science. He has22 years experience as a research soil scientist, 14 with DSIR Soil Bureau and later with Landcare Research and six with AgResearch at Ruakura. Mapping and interpreting soils for land use, soil management for irrigation, drainage, effluent and nutrient leaching are areas of particular interest. He also spent time investigating the measurement of soil physical quality, and the management and effect of pugging on pasture production. He has been the author of 23 refereed scientific publications and 24 conference papers. In 2003, he received the New Zealand Society of Soil Science Norman Taylor Memorial Award.
